PRESS STATEMENT: Ikorodu Youth Coalition to host ‘Breakfast with Bolowotan’ as young Leaders unite to co-create the Future of Ikorodu Constituency I

The Ikorodu Youth Coalition has announced its readiness to host “Breakfast with Bolowotan,” a first-of-its-kind youth engagement initiative designed to foster meaningful dialogue between young people and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan.

Scheduled to hold on Saturday, 18th July, 2026, at the Ita-Elewa Youth Centre, Ikorodu, the event is themed “Beyond the Ballot: Co-Creating Ikorodu Constituency I.” It will bring together youth leaders, student representatives, professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, community advocates, and other stakeholders from across the constituency for an interactive conversation on the future of Ikorodu.

According to the organizers, the initiative is designed to move political engagement beyond election campaigns by creating a platform where young people can actively contribute ideas, influence policy conversations, and build a shared vision for sustainable development in Ikorodu Constituency I.

A major highlight of the engagement will be the presentation of the Ikorodu Youth Manifesto to Hon. Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan. The document, developed through consultations with young people across the constituency, outlines practical recommendations and priority areas covering education, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, innovation, employment, infrastructure, sports, healthcare, security, digital inclusion, environmental sustainability, and community development.

The Coalition noted that the presentation of the manifesto represents a commitment by young people to move from being passive participants in governance to becoming active partners in shaping policies and driving community development. It also provides an opportunity for the APC flagbearer to share his broader vision for Ikorodu Constituency I and engage directly with the aspirations and expectations of the younger generation.

Speaking ahead of the event, the leadership of the Ikorodu Youth Coalition described the initiative as a strategic platform for constructive engagement, accountability, and collaborative leadership.

“Our vision is simple: politics should not end at the ballot box. Young people deserve a seat at the table where decisions about their future are made. ‘Breakfast with Bolowotan’ is an opportunity to build trust, exchange ideas, and jointly chart a development agenda that reflects the hopes and aspirations of the people of Ikorodu Constituency I.”

The Coalition emphasized that the event is non-confrontational and solution-oriented, encouraging honest conversations around governance, inclusive representation, youth participation, and sustainable community development.

The Ikorodu Youth Coalition therefore calls on youth organizations, student bodies, professional associations, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and stakeholders across Ikorodu Constituency I to participate actively in this landmark engagement and contribute to building a constituency where every young person’s voice counts.

Together, the Coalition believes that meaningful dialogue, shared responsibility, and visionary leadership will pave the way for a stronger, more prosperous, and more inclusive Ikorodu Constituency I.
