IKORODU, LAGOS — Friday, 14th August, 2026: The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan, has reaffirmed his commitment to party unity and reconciliation, following a meeting of APC leaders, executives and aspirants across Ikorodu Division.
The reconciliation meeting, led by Mr. Babatunde Ogala, SAN, former National Legal Adviser of the APC, brought together key stakeholders of the party with a renewed commitment to strengthening the party ahead of the forthcoming elections. The meeting also set an ambitious target of 250,000 votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates across Ikorodu Division.
Speaking after the meeting, Bolowotan said the lessons of the 2023 elections must guide the party’s preparations going forward, stressing that personal ambition must give way to collective interest and party loyalty. According to him, the call by Ogala for party members to be magnanimous and place the APC above individual interests was a responsibility he was prepared to embrace.
Bolowotan expressed appreciation to Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo for his pledge of full support, as well as other aspirants who acknowledged his reconciliation efforts across the division.
He said the reconciliation initiative was not about his personal political ambition but about rebuilding trust, strengthening relationships and creating a united political structure capable of delivering victory for the APC.
“That work was never about me alone. It was about earning the trust the party has now placed in my hands as flagbearer for Ikorodu Constituency I,” Bolowotan said.
He further appreciated APC leaders, executives, aspirants and supporters who participated in the reconciliation process, assuring them that he would carry the confidence reposed in him with humility and a strong sense of responsibility.
Bolowotan maintained that the APC’s strength in Ikorodu would depend on the ability of its members to work together, reconcile differences and mobilise voters around the party’s collective agenda. He therefore called on party members across Ikorodu Division to unite behind the APC and work towards achieving the 250,000-vote target.
“The time for unity is now. The time for reconciliation is now. The time to work together is now,” he said.
Bolowotan added that with a united party structure and a shared commitment to victory, the APC would be well positioned to secure victory for President Tinubu and all its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
