Initiative targets 30 wards to engage young voters, strengthen grassroots participation and mobilise support for APC candidates ahead of 2027 elections.
The Lagos State APC PBAT–KOH New Generation Directorate Champion for Ikorodu Division, in collaboration with the Ikorodu Division Youth Assembly (IDYA), has announced plans to commence a ward-to-ward engagement campaign across the division’s 30 wards ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The initiative is aimed at mobilising young voters, deepening grassroots engagement and building support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates across Ikorodu Division.
The campaign will cover Ikorodu Local Government and the five LCDAs of Ikorodu West, Ikorodu North, Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Imota and Ijede. Activities will include community interactions, youth conversations, stakeholder meetings, courtesy visits and grassroots mobilisation.

According to the organisers, the engagement will also provide an opportunity to communicate the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the vision of the Lagos State APC leadership, including Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and Princess Damilola Sonayon-James.

Speaking on the initiative, Eyikogbe Toluwalope David, Ikorodu Division Champion of the New Generation Directorate and Chairman of IDYA, said the campaign was designed to take the party’s message directly to communities while listening to residents and encouraging greater youth participation in politics.

“Politics is most impactful when it reaches the people at the grassroots. Through this Ward-to-Ward Engagement, we are taking our message directly to every community, listening to residents, engaging young people, and building a stronger grassroots movement for the All Progressives Congress,” he said.
David added that the mobilisation would extend support to APC candidates, including Senator Adetokunbo Abiru for Lagos East Senatorial District; Hon. Babajimi Benson for Ikorodu Federal Constituency; Hon. Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan for Ikorodu Constituency I; and Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun for Ikorodu Constituency II.
The organisers described the initiative as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures, sustain engagement with young people and promote issue-based political participation across the division.
They called on youths, community leaders and other stakeholders across the 30 wards to participate actively in the engagements as the APC intensifies its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections.
