The Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, will deliver the keynote address at the second edition of the Mentorship Session with HOA 2.0, as young people and emerging leaders converge on Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA for a conversation on purposeful and transformational leadership.
The programme, scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Secretariat, will commence at 10:00 a.m. under the theme: “Leading with Purpose: Mentoring the Next Generation of Transformational Leaders.”
Rt. Hon. Meranda, who brings extensive experience in legislative and public leadership, is expected to challenge participants to embrace leadership as a responsibility and an opportunity to create positive change. Her keynote is expected to focus on purpose-driven leadership, integrity, service, personal responsibility and the need to prepare young people for greater leadership responsibilities.
The second edition of the mentorship programme is designed to provide young people with direct access to accomplished leaders and professionals, creating a platform for learning, experience-sharing and meaningful conversations around leadership and personal development. Participants are expected to gain practical insights that can guide their personal, professional and community journeys.
Speaking on the significance of the programme, the organisers said the mentorship session was conceived to bridge the gap between experienced leaders and the next generation, stressing that young people need not only opportunities but also the right guidance, values and mentorship to maximise their potential.
“We believe that the leaders of tomorrow must begin preparing today. Through this mentorship platform, we want young people to learn from those who have walked the path before them, understand the responsibilities that come with leadership and discover how they can use their talents and positions to create positive impact.”
