The Lagos East Movement has formally endorsed the re-election of Senator Mikhail Adetokunbo Abiru to the Senate, citing his track record of effective representation and impactful service across the Lagos East Senatorial District.
In an official press statement issued by the group, which comprises stakeholders across the 16 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in the district, the Movement described Abiru’s tenure as one defined by measurable achievements, legislative diligence, and a strong commitment to sustainable development.
According to the statement, Senator Abiru has set a high standard for representation through strategic investments in human capital development, economic empowerment, and inclusive engagement with constituents. The group particularly highlighted his contributions to youth development, noting that his initiatives have created opportunities and strengthened the capacity of young people across Lagos East.
The Movement also commended the senator’s consistent grassroots engagement, stating that his accessibility and responsiveness have ensured that governance remains aligned with the needs and aspirations of the people.
“The endorsement is predicated on his verifiable record of performance and his commitment to delivering long-term value to constituents,” the statement read, adding that his leadership reflects competence, accountability, and a clear understanding of the district’s development priorities.
The Lagos East Movement emphasized the need for continuity, urging political stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, and residents of the district to support Abiru’s return to the Senate in order to consolidate on the progress already achieved.
Speaking on behalf of the Movement, its Director General, Ambassador Ibraheem Ogunbanwo, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting leaders who demonstrate capacity and deliver tangible results.
The endorsement adds to growing political support for Senator Abiru as preparations gradually begin ahead of the next electoral cycle in Lagos State.
