The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, has paid a courtesy visit to the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen women and youth participation in the democratic process and strengthen grassroots engagement across the state.

During the visit, Princess Sonayon-James, accompanied by her team, held discussions with the Iyaloja-General on strategies to encourage young market men and women, as well as women across various market associations, to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The meeting highlighted the critical role of women and young people in shaping the future of Lagos State and emphasized the importance of ensuring that these key demographics are fully represented in the electoral process through voter registration and active civic participation.

Speaking after the meeting, Princess Sonayon-James expressed appreciation to Chief Folashade Tinubu-Ojo for her warm reception, invaluable guidance, words of encouragement, and prayers.

She noted that the engagement further reinforced the importance of empowering women and youth as vital stakeholders in governance and community development, stressing that their participation remains essential to building a more inclusive and prosperous Lagos.

Princess Sonayon-James also expressed her commitment to strengthening collaboration with the office of the Iyaloja-General and working more closely with market women and youth groups across Lagos State to promote civic engagement, economic empowerment, and sustainable community development.

The visit forms part of a broader grassroots engagement strategy aimed at mobilizing women and young people, encouraging active participation in the electoral process, and fostering stronger partnerships with critical stakeholders ahead of future elections in Lagos State.
